This speech was when the commanding officer or other high ranking official was first presenting the challenge coin to an individual, not challenging an existing coin holder or group of coin holders.

my dad was on the clevland in wwII. all his metals, photos and cruise book were lost when our house burned up when i was a boy. he still talks about going up the slot at night and shooting at the flash of the japs guns.he told me about chasing the japs to fight somemore. he told me the captain come on the loud speaker and told them they were a bunch of fighting s.o.b. after one battle. my dad will be 89 in may. he has had 3 by passes when he was 70,still bench press 100 lb every day. iam proud of my dad and his positive attitude. I dont know if this is the right forum to post this or not just want to tell someone so it want be forgotten.
